The Beautiful Baby Daughter had a maths test yesterday.
She was not best pleased. Not about the test, she is a well prepared child, unlike the other 2 work shy articles I've reared.
In fact, she was so displeased she wrote this at the end of her test paper
Dear Mr Badmathsteacher
I am writing this note to tell you that I am cross with you. In this maths test, there have been 19 out of 57 available marks that I have not been able to achieve.
This is because you have not taught me how to get these 19 marks. As you are a maths teacher you will know that this amounts to over a third of the total paper.
This will reflect badly on me as a student but it should reflect badly on you as you as a teacher as you have failed to do what you are paid to do. If you spent more time teaching us and less time in the maths staff room we would not be having to have this conversation.
Yours sincerely
Beautiful Baby Daughter
I wonder if I should warn Mr Badmathsteacher that you upset the BBD at your peril, I mean before he knows it, she'll be the head of that school and she'll be using him to put her feet up on after he's made her a cup of coffee and cleaned her car.

Oh good for her! Well she's probably right and at least has the courage to say what needs saying. Be very proud.
Running the school? I doubt she'll have time, what with sorting out the economy, the Middle East and all.
Wonderful! I once wrote a math teacher that if the purpose of the course was to finish the book then he'd done his job, but if the purpose was to teach us what was in the book then he'd failed.
Ayak - I am very proud, but she judges me with the same standards, I'm usually found a bit lacking too
Andy - don't even joke
M & J - oh good, it's not just her then
Feck.
I see detention looming no matter how right she may be.
NB - yep me too
I am proud of your daughter and I don't even know her. Way to go BBD!!
Way to go BBD! Well done AG for doing a great job.......what's happening tomorrow??
I know the feeling - oldest boy found 4 questions in his maths exam that he had not covered - he had previously asked his teacher if those type of questions might be worth revising and been told they would not be coming up in the exam - the school has, since July, still not explained themselves despite our repeated requests.
I applaud your BBD, thank goodness she can speak up for herself. I wonder why some teachers are still turning up to teach, because, well quite frankly....they don't.

BRAVO BBD! Good for her; even if she does get detention. He deserved to be called out. I would even go as far to say as the principal (if that's what you call them) should be made aware of the situation.
My son doesn't like doing handwriting very much, so he says very similar things - directly to the teacher, or even the principal sometimes. But somehow I imagine that BBD is a lot calmer xx
Was this a government-mandated exam? If it was, this incident perfectly illustrates one of the big problems with such exams: they often include material that may be part of the curriculum, but for whatever reason, the teacher didn't cover it. Often, that reason is that the teacher needed to spend more time on an earlier concept because the kids didn't understand it immediately. The mandated curriculum doesn't account for things like kids needing more time to master some concepts, unfortunately - but a mandated exam assumes that everybody learns at the same rate and will complete the curriculum on the same day and so be ready for that exam at the same time.
Regardless, good for BBD for telling the truth!
(And yes, I am a teacher!)
Wonderful. She isn't a girl to be messed with! A future career as a female version of Jeremy Paxman?
Excellent! Maths teachers are the right ones to annoy - because there's no practical or verbal test where they can exact revenge by applying personal judgement later
good for BBD. And what did maths teacher say?
ahhhh - but until she is running the school the boot is on the other foot and I suspect the punishment will be as unfair as the teacher not giving her the learning opportunities. That sucks twice.
Bravo girl!!! Well said
Hugs

Well done that girl and if a detention gets handed out I think she'd have plenty of us willing to have a word with the school ;)
