Too good to be true

Remember the last post where I was hoping that Beautiful Baby Daughter would be my only regular human child? Well, that's not working out too well, truth be told.

On return from school today Beautiful baby daughter informed me in a proud and happy voice that she'd learned a new word.

From her English teacher.

So far so good.

So, as is a good mummy's wont, I enquired as to the new word.

Would you like to know too?

Promiscuous.

Splendid, so no hope for me then.

As you were.

I can only imagine the look of disdain that particular gem atrracted. From the BBD I mean.

How's your Mother's hearing? Could she actually be saying something like 'precious' when your Mother is around.... I'm sure BBD will get bored with using it in every conversation, so I'm wondering what words the English teacher with teach her next. It's a scary thoughtXx

LFBS - it was in reference to Curly's wife in "of mice and men" :)xx

Oops, am not with the programme tonight clearly :)

But can she spell it?!

Sorry, inside joke. Every time Man-Child comes home with a new word that is what I would throw at him in a misguided attempt to improve his spelling. He usually surprises me.

And yes, Curly's wife WAS promiscuous.

LFBS - me either and I did that book as my set text at O grade in 1982, seriously, the kids find it hilarious we haven't changed the curriculum in that feckin long

Gigi - ah, cunning plan my dear, no fear Lucy Abs could spell that, spelling is her nemesis

lol......I think I learned that word from 'Jackie' in 1976, Gwen - round about the time I started subconsciously acting it out!

Oh dear! A while back out youngest asked a "what does ..... mean?" question.

Does she know what it means? I think she needs to be told its a type of mythical Greek deity who doted on adorable cuddly characters and other innocent pursuits.
