Not to be missed...

Dearest PR people for holiday companies,

I would like to offer you an unbelievable opportunity. Your selfless to the core auntie has cleared the first 2 weeks in August for you, ready and willing to undertake a review of a holiday. I have a selection of offspring plus offspring's friends and romantic partners and not forgetting elderly parents . I have a lovely assortment of friends and fellow bloggers. A great cross section of society to be sure.

The family and friends von auntiegwen will happily go anywhere you send us and review your holidays. We will go by plane, train, car or boat, we will be rigorous in our testing of your facilities, should you wish any alcohol testing EBD's your girl, spa treatments or testing sun loungers that'll be me, beauty products or fashion would be Hot Boy, Xbox or other gaming type things, step up The Beautiful Son, Beautiful Baby Daughter is a making/crafting/ artistic sort, excellent at kids club type reviews. Food could easily be anyone of them, veggie and vegan friendly testing also undertaken. Any gadgets, well do I not have gadget mad dad? things to occupy pensioners who don't like foreign and get very very stressed would be the beautiful mother. Are we not the most versatile bunch?

I solemnly promise as many posts full of witticisms about your undoubtedly fabulous holidays as needed, which will be read by the most discerning of blog readers who I'm sure, are most admiring of my taste in all things and would be happy to rush out and spend their hard earned sponduliks on holidays recommended by my goood self.

Although not always thought of as a Mummy blogger due to the high feck count and numerous mentions of shagging David Tennant, may I take this chance to reassure nervous PR types, I can go for hours without swearing and with nary a thought of David crossing my dirty mind. In my defence I have been a Mummy for a very long time, 18 full years, I have 3 great kids, none of whom have asbo's or fillings, and some of them even have qualifications, not to mention the fact that all 3 can walk, talk and go to the toilet all by their own self. I thank you for your kind applause. I can do the mummy blogger thing, nae bother to your auntie.

This post was prompted by The Beautiful Sons naked envy of other bloggers children getting to go places, do stuff and then review them. His actual words were (remember, said in an old man Scottish accent) "Could ye no write a better blog, marmee and get us some of the free stuff"

there was a tv series where a family became holiday critics and got to test out a holiday. If I was the director I would have put Auntiegwen and family on a cruise -the entertainment value would be immense.

With you on the free stuff bandwagon - not a sniff chez Mud!

Fancy a break in Singapore? I'll be away at the start of July and there's a flat going empty......

Oh you're wonderful and have me chuckling with almost every read :D x

Great idea...and I wholeheartedly support you with this....seriously, AG, I am fed up of seeing z list 'celebs' travelling, eating, driving, wearing stuff etc., and giving us, the ordinary working folk, the benefit of their opinions and reviews ...as if I give a fig for what some minor soap star/wag says.....they have money, they don't need the free stuff! and unlike them our reviews would be the real deal!

Ha! Your son makes a good point there! The holiday of sorts that is hugely popular is the Balloon Fiesta in October...over 600 hot air balloons show us and it is quite spectacular. You and your family could come and see that. Bring your RV and you can stay right on the balloon field and not miss a thing. Of course you do have to contend with 2 million or so visitors that also come to see it!! Ha!
How is that for an adventure??
Would son like that?
Hugs
SueAnn

Libby here again....just to grab the coat tails of any PR jaunt going...perhaps a weekend for two nice blog ladies in Paris? Lisbon? No? Harrogate? Little-thwissing-on-the-wold??

I have just bought an eld caravan. You are indeed welcome to spend a weeks holiday up to your neck in claggy mud and damp clothes whilst complaining about there only being four television stations to watch with nothing but shite on them whilst you are squashed to buggery around a seating area big enough for two vertically challenged people. I would be very entertained by your review no doubt.

Nothing like kids to remind you of your professional shortcomings when Tristan and Rupert are heading off to the Alps for a short breaky weaky!

what you need is the family from hell to go too, to give it some excitment and interest. If you're all so perfect it'll be boring post hol blogging therefore I propose chez-moi come along too. It would make one heck of a reality tv watch!

Hurrah for blatant plug for freebies. My sister (AWNTYM) is currently on holiday in Italy gratis and shortly on her return will be gonig to florida for a second time all in the name of blogging. Never a week goes by without her reciveing yet more freebies through the post. I think it has something to do with the ages of your kids:swearing ratio and I'm afraid we both fail badly here.

Mrs W - and it;s not like our kids aren't cute and sweet...

feck, who're we kidding :)

LOVED your last comment!!! Yeah, they aren't as cute & sweet as they used to be.....

BUT, can you imagine the great review (and blog!!) material there would be if they put two (or several!) of us bloggers together for a vacation??

Yeah - so if any of you PR folks out there are listening....wherever you send Auntie Gwen you need to send me and a few others........

Me and sun and things like that don't ever go together. I'll probably not voluntarily venture outdoors until September......I did like Kellogsville suggestion though...!!

I love your blog. You always make me smile...even on a bad day.

Ooh I'm up for freebies too! I'd be happy to review anything that's free.

auntiegwen said...

Gigi - indeed we could take a ladies bloggers tour, I feel :)

Lena - just as well you live in The Mother Country then !

Ayak - yep me too, I've been offered liquorice, penis extenders and wedding rings, not quite sure what that says about me...

I'm thinking of trying this very same approach to Jaguar as I would love to try out their cars for them...or perhaps Cadbury's would be a good one.... Good luck!
PS thanks for your comments when my son was getting married in Edinburgh - such a lovely city. My husband's parents were both from there too, so we are inextricably linked. We did the ghost walk whilst there - have you ever done that? It was great fun! x

auntiegwen said...

Diney - ooh I haven't thought about cars, maybe a wee sporty number would be right up my street :) I love Edinburgh and was very sad to leave, I have done the ghost walk and been underneath in the walled off city, very eerie xx
