Facebook envy

My mate Bill is a very fine fellow, the most amusing of amusing people. He has the best social life and the most understanding wife in the world. He has it sussed. His facebook statuses never cease to make me howl.

My personal faves from Bill in the last week have included

finished the night in the Port O Leith, watching fist fights and Smurfs dancing on the bar. Best pub in Edinburgh by a country mile!

made it back from Paris intact, with Monkey Boy fit and well. Highlights included a beggar with a rabbit, a tramp doing a jobby on a roundabout and touching a famous penis in Pere Lachaise cemetary!

I so wish I was living in Edinburgh again, how much fun would it be to be out with Bill on a regular basis? This blog would be so much more entertaining - Hot Boy and Bill on a night out? Quality.

I sort of get most of it, I just can't get the beggar and the rabbit out of my mind...

Oh I'd go home in a fit but the effing weather is sooo bad back home! No wonder we have such great humour back home, we need it to cope with the inclement conditions. Still, you have Facebook to keep up with Bill's great wit.

Sorry to read about the wains and the upset about their dad's engagement. Kids no matter what age always hold a candle to the hope that mum and dad will get back together again. I've been a step-mother three times, it was a consistent wish each time even though I got on great with the kids. Time heals though.

MOB is right about the weather up here - snow again today. And it's miserable.

On the plus side, I'm close enough to Edinburgh could make it for a night out to that pub.

How unlike the Leith of my 20s. There were never any Smurfs to had for love nor money.

Mob - cheers hen, it seems less raw although my youngest still doesn't want to go to his house

LFBS - I know I'm just glad I'm not his wife, he goes out what seems like a few nights a week and has quite a few boys weekends away too, she's at home washing the pants

Libs - definitely, we shall go and visit The Mother Country

Sandi - I think knitting is lovely and thereapeutic and if you've seen 1 smurf dance on a bar, you've seen them all :)

Taz - I hear the Port O Leith is the best pub, by a country mile apparently

NB - you could do a lot worse on both counts

SueAnn - he hasn't changed in the 20 years plus I've known him, he still thinks he's a 20 year old student!!!

SJ - I will let you know the next time I'm in town !!

CQ - did you google it?

Madame - I also lived in Leith from 1988 till 1992, not a sniff of a smurf. I did see a woman painted green in a green leotard and leggings in a chip shop in Stockbridge though. Festival.

Alex - cheers for that, I saw then twice in 2008, I will definitely go again, Nottingham is close enough to be do able :) x
