Prague here I come

Your auntie is off on a wee jolliday. I know, I'm overgiddy myself with the excitement of going anywhere that isn't school or a supermarket. Myself and 3 other women in our book group fly out to Prague on Friday. Don't roll your eyes at the thought of a book group, what else are middle aged women to do ? I do believe some MAW go salsa dancing - flighty things !

So, we are staying in this gorgeous apartment and we will arrive Friday evening and leave Sunday evening.

If you've been to Prague before and you've got any top tips or recommendations that are suitable for middle aged women on tour let me know.

Rest assured, I will be on my best behaviour, these aren't people who know the real me, they get the diet version, I'm not sure they could cope with full fat auntie !!!

Oh Sweetie, you'll so love pretty Prague soak in the atmosphere of alfresco eating in the main square. Pricey but so worth it. The building as so coloyrful and beautiful. Go to the top of the cathedral a steep climb but a great view. Go on a boat trip. God I so wish I was going with you to show you the eating places with live music etc. Don't eat Pike! YUK! YUK! Do you like shopping? Silly questions so many bargins to be found. Stay clear of the live sex shows down dark alleys. Have a great time. Oh, the underground (very, very deep) and travelling by trams is a must. Public toilets an old lady will take your money (a few pence) and give you one or two squares on toilet roll in return. Be wise carry tissues with you :) Have a greast time. Oh, pack a camera TFx

I would not eat in the main square as it is very expensive, go a street over and the prices come down a lot, travelling is easy on the public transport, but it is best to explore on foot I found.

I went to Prague two days after September 11th, a weekend for his nibs and myself to celebrate my fourtieth birthday, it was a very somber occasion in light of the recent events.
One tip on eating out the friendly waiters will offer plates of starters, beware they are not free and sometimes cost more than the rest of the meal itself! Just politely refuse. It will be great I am sure!

Don't go getting romantically involved as it's too far to go for a quick bonkeroonie! Have a great time. X

TF - thanks for that, I know we're doing a boat trip and we also are having cocktails at a place I think is called Cloud Nine, it's a bar in the Hilton hotel that has panoramic views of the city. I will avoid sex shows and take toilet roll !!!! Maybe one day we'll have a bloggy trip xx

Mr Stu - thank you, I have been warned to leave my hight heels at home, apparently the cobbles are hard work !

Dutchy - thank you, like I say I am over happy to go anywhere, truly, my life is that dull

Shirley - doesn't it look amazing ? so much nicer than my house ! I may never come back

Tim - I have to buy my copy at the airport, I think it's called The Cellist of Sarajevo, or something similar

Frankie - what a shame for you, never mind I'm sure your 50th will be fab !

Mud - thanks I will do it upon return, much luck and love for Sunday, if you see my Neil, give him a kiss from me x

Mob - romantically involved, me ??? there's an oxymoron, chance would be a fine thing !!!! I'm sure I shall have a great time, sights to see and cake to eat, bliss !

NB - I will tell you all about it when I get back, the full fat version

Katie - I've never had potato pancakes but I will x

mannanan - I'm not a beer drinker but I'm sure it'd be rude not to try at least 1, I'll let you know what's good
