Again, with feeling, I am a lucky, lucky girl

You know how I always tell you, I'm a lucky lucky girl ?

Well, I am.

I'm alive, healthy and not too insolvent (credit card bill this month under a grand, yes, that is for a month, what can I do ?, the kids keep eating and demanding new kit for all the myriad of activities they collectively partake of, oh alright I bought shoes and some fancy knickers too)

I had a blissful Saturday night.

Today, the beautiful children and I went to Pizza Express for lunch and to see The Boy in Striped Pyjamas at the cinema. This is a delicately acted film with real pathos about the unlikely friendship between two little boys, one the son of a high ranking Nazi and the other a Jewish concentration camp inmate. My girls and I cried buckets at the end, and when we were walking from the cinema, my beautiful son put his arm around my shoulders and kept it there all through town to the car park.

I am really and truly blessed, I've never known real hardship in my life, I've never been persecuted for my ideas or beliefs, I've never been hungry and I've always had a home and I've always had love.

I love my life, I love the very bones of my children, I have people to care about and people who care about me and my children are safe, well and happy. That's not too shabby is it ? Trust me, I am unbelievably grateful for it.

I don't think I'm up to seeing The Boy in Striped Pyjamas, just at the moment. My son and his girlfriend went to see it and she almost had to leave the cinema, because she was so upset. They both agreed that it was an excellent film, however.

Like you, I am very grateful for my life, so far, and appreciative of the things I have. I have shelter, food, family and friends. We live in a very greedy society, currently, and hopefully, a film such as this, will remind the greedy ones amongst us exactly what is important in life. The likes of you and me already knew, of course. ;0)

Your children certainly are beautiful and I know what you mean about having to spend money when we have kids. I have 5. Although I have the black box widget, too, I came here through DJ Kirby's site.

Yup, the best! No amount of money can ever replace a hug, kiss, an ear to listen to you. Priceless dear lady, you are all very blessed I'd say.

You are one very lucky lady you know?? Wouldnt it be nice if everyone had what you have? No hunger, love aplenty, all the good things.

Loved the post girly

Great stuff! I'm a "count your blessings" person too. If only they made alcohol that didn't get you drunkety, drunk, drunk, drunk, life would be perfect!

Well said auntie gwen... i have bouts of the glums every now and again, due in the main to running round like a blue arsed fly trying to be supermum, partner, ex-wife, PTA chair etc etc...and not leaving anything in reserve for myself...however, having been raised in a house with very few material things, but loads of books, laughter and loving parents, where we were taught that there was always someone else worse off than us...and that we only get one life and we shouldn't waste it on feeling sorry for ourselves! so there!

Doesn't sound as much fun as 'The Clone Wars'.

Also... define "blissful"?

Laura - thank you, hope you're okay

Eddie - indeed

Sue - to be fair most of my days are good ones

MM - try and see it if you can, it is very poignant

Ashley - thanks for visiting, I get a wee bit nervous when real writers read me as I know I write like I talk and I know my spelling, punctuation and grammar are fairly poor too !I always wanted more children too after the 3 but I'm grateful for what I've got.

Shirley - you've got shed loads more faith and gratitude than me x

Lisa - it's good to say thanks, I know sometimes life can be hard but overall it's pretty good

Berthddu - thank you sweetie, recovered now, have we ? xx

Tim- it's lovely to still have his hugs, I hope he never grows out of them

Craze - we both are very grateful for our lives

ACTTF - nah, don't worry, i don't even do facebook and I feel inadequate x

Mob - you really get it don't you ? sending you the love x

That girl - that's the nice side of me, she's called Pollyanna, just wait till you get a real ranty post, that's when Grumpalina comes out to play !

cece - I know you're happy, what with the perfect mister AND the naughty party goodies !!

WM - could we have alcohol that got you pleasantly tipsy but with no hangover ? please ?

What Happened - you're right, life is so busy sometimes it's hard to be grateful, just say no to the PTA ! stick to the lovely boyfriend and the pub :)

Neil - like I said on Sunday, I just don't fancy Clone Wars and "blissful" is an adjective which means happy and full of joy. I know you probably didn't get as good a Higher English as me, so happy to help you out, as, in fairness, you always are to me...
