Untitled

A debit from my account, £300, a cheque written long ago and almost forgotten.

A letter saying the papers I signed in December have been returned and filed at court.

And so it begins.

Is that your divorce papers? Yuk. No matter how ready for it you feel, yuk. It just dragged up so many crappy emotions for me when I finally sorted the paper work, paid and did it. I was amazed at how crappy it felt. Hope you ride the storm well and I promise it's really sunny on the other side :0)

Today is the first day of the rest of your [new] life. I hope the bank is understanding if it puts you in the red! Don't you hate it when that happens?

On the other side of the bog called Divorce is a lovely meadow called Relief. That gradually gives way to Life again, but it's worth slogging through the mire anyway. Empathetic hugs to you, my dear.

Good luck. I have just come out the other side. A word of advice;the divorce is the cheap bit it's the ancillary relief ( aka sorting out the money that costs and that can be the bit that racks up the costs astronomically. Or at least it did in my case. All the best and it does get better, honest.

Your post read like it should have Eastenders "Doof,Doof's" at the end.

Sending you good thoughts also. xx

Dearest All, I'm fine, it's been so long ago that I instrumented this I'd almost forgotten it. I genuinely hope that the inevitable wrangling over who gets what doesn't change the fact that he was someone I loved muchly and I will always be grateful to him every day of my life because he was my big love and together we made the most amazing children.
