Eleven reasons I haven't posted for a week

I am a bad blogger, feel free to berate me, please have my eleven excuses. I have been missing in bloggy action this week because

I started a new job

I have to go and meet people at my new job

This meeting of people takes me to far far away (well, Chesterfield on Wednesday and yesterday long day visiting Gainsborough, Spalding and Boston and I'd never even been to Lincolnshire before yesterday)

I am having to do masses of driving (not really in my skill set but at least I have my own car back)

As I will be doing eleventy squillion miles per year, maybe I should accept the company car I have been offered? The thought of having to work out how much it will cost and the tax implications makes my brain switch off. I have the choice of an Astra or an Astra. The level of my decision making is "does it come in metallic purple?" please decide for me then if it all goes wrong I will blame you.

The meeting of people and the concentrating on the new things and the pretending to be both nice and clever is exhausting.

The children still need feeding and driving places.

The housework fairy is on strike

I am still middle aged and therefore extremely tired

My Beautiful Son and his not as calm as it's been life

And I have been busy with a really lovely and exciting secret thing and as it's in it's early stages I will keep it under wraps a bit longer.

The worst drivers in the world drive Astras. If they're giving you a good mileage rate, use your own car...and use the money to have that blue and white sticker removed from the rear bumper...
...am very very excited about your lovely and exciting secret thing...

I agree..take the money for mileage! That is what my hubby does! But I do feel your pain about driving everywhere!! That sucks. Hope you like this new job!!

They give you money for mileage - but do they also reimburse your for the wear and tear on your car? That should be a consideration as well.

Ohhh - a secret?!

Wait - where did you find a housework fairy? I want one!

take the car, open the box, take the car open the box...no seriously take the car...when it goes wrong they give you another, simples...yes the tax is high but it's much much less hassle..TBH I would listen to NB though...he's way more reliable than me...is the secret in the box?...open the box!

Now why would we berate you; it is not obligatory to post every day - god knows I couldn't manage that.

Far far away sounds like a good idea; but I am middle aged and tired too so I am just going to open a bottle of wine. Don't keep your secret too long, it sounds exciting and I like other people's secrets.

Give me a shout when you get to North Lincolnshire, it's just across the Humber Bridge and the cuppa tea is on me. At the end of the day Auntie, the thing that brings the moolah into the home is important and whilst I've missed your extraordinary insight and witticism, keeping the family unit on track is what you're about. Well done on settling in on the new job.
(NB Be careful of the tax implications on taking the mileage if you're doing a lot - Mr Taxman doesn't like us making money - get some sound advice on that one)

So glad you're back, but maybe we'll all appreciate you more cos we missed you? Use your own car if it is reliable, if not, then take theirs, but metallic purple? A good look in a dress perhaps but not really in a car. Can't wait to hear the secret...I presume you will tell at some point?

Take the Car, you don't want the wear and tear on your own one, sell it, and get a 2.55 with the money honey!

The house fairy is booked in here for the next week, so don't you all get excited. I have a large removal lorry arriving within the next hour or two full of c**p that has to fit into my small cottage so I need the fairy more than any of you!

NB - that beautiful sticker is the best thing about my car...

SueAnn - I think I will enjoy my new job but I don't think I'd thought the driving bit through properly (story of my life!) x

Gigi - I so want a cleaner, more than I want chocolate and that's saying something

S - I will take the company car but I'll wait till EBD passes her test and give her mine, it's just had a full year MOT, road tax, insurance etc and all that bloomin money fitting coils and suchlike

Alienne - pour me a glass and I'll spill my secret, which is probably much less exciting for everyone else than it is for me

Lolly - they asked me but the beautiful children can't get their own tea yet, maybe next year?

Steve - I am in North Lincs usually weekly, so I'll be expecting cake now :) xxx

LFBS - I tried on a metallic purple dress at the weekend, I looked like a quality street :) x

Mrs fab - like you all cash goes to offspring, EBD will get mine, although I think I prefer your option x

Lena - I am dying to tell people but I have to keep it under wraps a bit longer

Ayak - I am fit to burst with it, I have too many things I can't say at the mo

CQ - when you have the Shah and his wardrobe?, shame on you :)

Sue - you get EVERYFECKINGOODTHING in New Zealand, I think I will send you BBD just for spite x

TROTN - oh the stress of moving, okay you win that round of housework fairy top trumps

OO sounds interesting. Not the car thing but take the ompany one anyway. But what's with the other stuff, what about your beautiful boy and I'm guessing your secret might be similar to mine given our parallel lives. If so you go girl!

mrs W - my beautiful boy who is usually so laidback is still laidback with a side order of unhappiness, not good. My life is much less emotionally trying, which is good. And I'm glad your life is still good, I am so happy for you

I hope the secret special thing doesn't involve DT. Otherwise I may be jealous.
