Things that have confused your auntie this week...

To be fair, I could have been doing this every single week for the 5 years I've had this blog, I am, far too often, perplexed by life. But this week has been particularly bemusing to me. In no particular order, I give you

I have lost 1 pair of navy trousers, the top that goes with them and a very nice Dimity So bra.

I found a mince pie wrapped in a napkin in the front pocket of my handbag.

This morning The Beautiful Son's phone alarm went off at 6am, how come my children can sleep through an alarm that is inches from their ear when I can hear it from another room?

How come my children can only get up if only the human alarm clock that is their mummy comes in and wakes them?

How come my son was not in his bed but asleep on the sofa under the duvet he'd taken off his bed and wearing a ladies Primark zebra print onesie?

How come when I woke up a bit later and proceeded downstairs for the Sunday Times and the first of the coffees that would fortify my day, I met The Beautiful Son's ex girlfriend dressed in a fur coat (are they back in vogue?) and leaving very quietly?

How come I didn't notice there were 2 bodies under the duvet 2 hours earlier?

Miss Marple isn't too worried about me stealing her job, is she?

Your clothes and handbag bit is easy: they're going out on another body and enjoying a social life you just werent fulfilling them with. The ex I am at a loss to reason out. Unless she was an ex because he refused to buy her a fur coat or wear zebra print! And being old I still can't say 'fur coat' without adding 'no knickers' which seems entirely apt.

Hmm. I think some of life's mysteries just get more mysterious as we get older. Last Christmas I searched everywhere for our little wooden nativity scene to no avail. This year there they all were, Mary, Joseph etc plain as day.

I think this might be a classic case of the old "plant a Christmas pastry in Mum's handbag and hide some of her clothes to create confusion as a diversion from my nocturnal activities" ruse. There's probably a Facebook group for it. And, but for a minor timing error by the ex, it would have worked.

I think your handbag is definitely leading a double life. The thing is do you want to know? ignorance is bliss.

Who does the zebra print onesie belong to?? Did the ex bring it with her? Curiouser and curiouser...

I'd quite like to find a mince pie in my handbag. I'd probably eat it :)

Crikey, every time I lose something (bank cards, watch) I just assume the Alzheimers is getting worse! And some questions are best left unanswered, or in fact, better not asked in the first place...

Ha!! Too funny! Guess a lump under the duvet is simply a lump. I wouldn't have guessed two either!!

I guess the ex isn't such an ex after all!!
Ah, missing items, my daughter lost her wallet, she pulled everything out of the suitcase, then I pulled everything out of the suit case, guess where it was??? Yep in the suit case. Gremlins take things you know just to p..s you off. Your clothes will be hanging up in your wardrobe....when the gremlins have had enough fun at your expense.

Oh, I meant that I pulled everything out of the suitcase but couldn't find it either, she found it the next day in the suitcase.

I found a necklace I thought I'd lost forever in one of the Xmas decoration boxes yesterday so I'm afraid I wouldn't be much help in your quest ;)
