Where is a Debretts guide when you need one?

I am pondering what would be an appropriate engagement gift for my not yet divorced from me husband.

Suggestions in the comments please.

Am trying desperately hard not to suggest something involving a large stick...

Perhaps better to get her flowers and say you're thinking of her?

MaM - that did make me laugh

Something that causes itching in the underpants...

Paul - is it wrong that I laughed?

I don't know enough about you to make a sensible suggestion.

Maybe a box of viagra?

AG

Surely a decree nisi and a wave.

Rock Chef - wow nothing does passive aggressive to your ex like viagra, again is it bad I laughed!!!

Q - thank you Q, how I never tire of saying that, yes indeed a cheery wave. I imagine all the very long and protracted negotiations will be brought to to a speedy end :)

severed head in a box?

Picture of you both on your wedding day with your face carefully cut out and her face put in. Underneath in newspaper letters you could write 'look familiar?'

Just to make him very twitchy, obv.

I'd send them one of those divorce cakes as a reminder, one of the less nasty ones obviously.

I have enjoyed everyone elses comments and really can't top MaM! I also wish I had said what Ayak said in your last post, she is a sensible woman. On a serious note for this post, I bought my ex a lovely salt and pepper thingymajiggy as a moving out/new home present. I just think giving something that says "hey, I'm a normal ex wife sort of girl and mean well" goes a long way in ensuring the good will continues to go around and a good dollop of good will generally makes the whole ex thing go around a whole lot easier. I would also say whatever the planned date is make sure you arrange to do something cool yourself, not ferrying the kids to and from the wedding. I delivered my daughter as a bridesmaid to a wedding ex was a bestman at and the whole wedding dressed up thing etc really messed my emotions around. I should have not got involved at all and been having a good knees up with my friends at centre parcs or something :0)

S - very wise words, we have been discussing it and we thought we'd buy a nice bottle of champagne and some nice glasses. I genuinely think he would do the same for me if the situations were reversed. Great idea re keeping myself busy although it will be more than strange to have my kids all dressed up and me not be there, as we all know I am a horribly overinvolved type of mummy

hysterical comments and can't top any of them. Judging by your last comment though you will be needing something to keep yourself busy that day, somewhere where you can go glammed up too.

How about a beautiful picture frame with an equally beautiful picture of his beautiful ex-wife and their beautiful children? If you really wanted to piss him off, you could include Hot Boy licking his own nipple...lol x

Loving Curry Queens comment! That one made me laugh out loud :D

A to do list of all the jobs he didn't get round to finishing before he left? Oh no that's what I'd give to mine but would it work for yours too? ;)

Some great suggestions from your other readers.

I've no suggestions for him - he doesn't deserve anything. But I'm sending you a hug.
