Addictions and Awards

Your auntie has had a wee bit bling bestowed upon her by the very facinating with a fascinator Flick at Dusting Spiders.

I have to tell you of my 5 addictions, there are lots of things in my life I adore but these are things (not people) that I could not bear to have in my life daily.

The Internet - I spend way too much time online, blogging, emailing, researching work stuff etc, I read loads of horoscopes too, I know I'm a sad article.

Coffee - I drink way too much, at home it's instant Marks and Spencer Fairtrade gold roast. In Starbucks it's venti skinny latte with cinnamon on or in summer venti coffee light frappucino. I am overly happy if someone else makes it for me.

Love - completely and utterly, my name is auntiegwen and I am a big fat love junkie.

Reading - my mammy taught me when I was 3 and I've never given up reading, can always be found with at least 2 books on the go and love my book group. At present reading Marian Keyes "This Charming Man" Fiona Neill "The Secret Life of a Slummy Mummy" and I should be reading the Barak Obama autobiographies as book group is on the 4th and I've to read both of his !

High heels - I always wear high heels, every single day, I do not possess a pair of flat shoes. This is because I am tiny, about 5 foot 3, but strangely I only seem to date tall men. Only once have I dated someone less than 6 foot. So I am completely addicted to my heels, I have been known to photograph new ones on my phone, I even show them to people, much to their bemusement. I can give good shoe porn should you be interested...

So my lovelies, I can't pick 5 of you, I don't want to hurt anyones feelings, so feel free to do the tag and take the bling because I love reading all your blogs.

Haha...I so hear you on the high heels and tall men. I am exactly the same and am even shorter than you...only 5 feet even.

Congrats on the award, G! I liked Slummy Mummy, Gwennie - Not sure about Marian Keyes - and I really ought to read Barack, I guess...

I'm with you on t'Internet and coffee too! Have you come back down from Belfast, yet?!

Congrats on yet more bling. When do we get the breathless on-the-verge-of-tears acceptance speech?

When you smile, I smile, that’s the deal.
I will not walk past you and not look you in the eyes and not acknowledge you.
Instead we will pass each other and say hello.

Not with our words, for they are not the same; but with our faces.
I meet you and I see there is good in your eyes, there's passion in your heart and there's a friendly hello in your smile.

And for the first time we can relate and appreciate each other.
That’s all it takes, that’s where it starts.
Because I know that you will smile and I will smile and the rest is easy

Lovely post auntiegwen. I never wear high heels (well I did for my daughter's wedding of course). I mostly wear crocs. You've gone off me now haven't you! flick xxx

I'm with you on everything but the heels - I'm only 5'3 too but I walk everywhere so heels are a no-go for me.

Congrats on the award Auntie, and I agree on the coffee, reading and high heels. My perfect day would be to combine all three - drinking coffee, lying on the sofa whilst wearing heels and reading something trashy, alternating with reading something worthy. I'd have to lie on the sofa as, although I love heels, I can't walk in them and lumber around like an elephant (or an Amazonian princess, when I'm in a positive frame of mind).

Hmm.... I'm sorry to say that I also have a bit of an addiction to the internet. I am away from home at the moment, but couldn't bear the thought of not being able to get online, so I've got a dongle. (Sounds as if I'm changing sex or something.)

Love reading, but can't wear heels any more. I do like to walk as much as I possibly can.

I feel so much better now about photographing my Choo's with my mobile and then keeping it as a screen saver! Bring on the shoe porn I say... I will look at it whilst partaking of my coffee!

Lisa - it's so they can reach the top shelf for me

Fhina - oh yes back to school with a bump ! I didn't like this Marian at all but I usually love her, slummy mummy ok. Got the new Kate Atkinson to read next, I like her.

Tim - I'm always happy to receive them and then lovingly put them away in my wee cyber drawer of nice things.

Looly - you know what's mine is yours, pinch away

loong - welcome and thank you, you seem a tad strange so you'll probably fit in quite well here

Penelope - I don't do it daily, so it didn't make the cut !

Flick - oh no, not the shoes of the devil ! if you wear them you must offset them with a tiara, then you will look like an eccentric and not a croc wearer, oh Flick, I don't like crocs but I still love you xxx

Katie - I do too, it's a matter of gain over pain besides I need them to reach the top of the board at school.

Footballers Knees - oh yes, reading, drinking and could we add cake to that ? I've not got the most elegant gait myself but I still wear them.

MM - a dongle did you say ? fair play to you, whatever lights your candle, who am I ? etc etc etc x

Sue - very probably in one of my 3 glass nights out !

that girl - if I had Choos I would be stopping people on the street FORCING them to admire them

I am also 5'3" and the man is 6'4" but I never wear heels. I am scared of falling off them, as I have a gammy leg. But also: being petite is part of who I am. Short & proud!
