In the last month I have been mainly...

at the beautiful house with the people I love, sunshine, good food, gin and laughter. Not too shabby, is it?

In other news...

Hot Boy and his band (whom he's rejoined but not sure if he's staying, lots of hard decisions to be made) have been played on Radio 1 as part of their introducing programme, please have a listen and buy lots of their stuff (album out on May 27th), Hot Boy has promised me a new fitted kitchen if they get famous, you wouldn't deny auntie a new kitchen, would you?

He's the one on the right of the picture, he's either in his black hoody with tartan shirt or stripped down to his burgundy vest. How he'll love that in years to come.

Eldest Beautiful Daughter has been in a Catholic school on a teaching placement. One of her first jobs was to escort the children to Mass, she's sat with a naughty child on either side of her and she's a bit bemused with the genuflecting and all, very different from her Presbyterian church going and naughty child says (in tones of great incredulity) "Miss, have you never been in a church before?"

The Beautiful Son is completely denying the need for any GCSE revision. He continues in his mad notion that exams are a reflection of what he knows on the day and any kind of revision is therefore cheating. Shame he's not doing GCSE's in Call of Duty or looking at laughing babies on youtube or annoying your wee sister. We'd be grand then.

Beautiful Baby Daughter is currently dementing me with her prom, I think it's a mad notion that when she leaves middle school aged 14, I have to lash out tons of cash for her to be in a frock more suitable for a nightclub (yes I am aware of how old that makes me sound, thank you very much) a hair do, and a ride to school prom in a limousine, is she from Essex? I think not. This bloody thing isn't until mid July but I am bored to death looking for shoes, dresses, accessories and I have abso bloody lutley refused both the fake tan and the white Hummer/pink stretch/fire engine or any other form of transportation that isn't a regular car. I know, bah Humbug phone Childline.

I am still working, still trying (and failing) to lose weight although I have started Zumba and last Wednesday myself and my friend Eileen went to our first fat loss body conditioning class, it was Sunday before I could walk down stairs without wincing. I know know what I'll be like as a pensioner. I am continuing to turn into my mother and it's escalated a fair bit. My forgetfulness and my misplacement of things is now up to Olympic standard currently searching for 200 cigarettes I brought back duty free for my dad last October (I had even forgotten I'd bought them till my mum asked them to bring them with me when I next go home) on the plus side I have found both my denim jacket and my Tiffany necklace. I don't live in a huge house, just a tip.

And that's been about it. What have you been up to?

Oh I did enjoy finding out what you've been up to. Enjoyed Hot Boy's music - I think good things could happen there!
These prom things are big round here too. Did you watch a programme about it a few months ago? Our local prom was featured, complete with limos, tractors, fake tans etc.
I've given up on all exercise at the moment, bar walking up and down stairs. It's not really enough so keep up the zumba.
My son, in Year 10, is also in GCSE denial and sadly seems to have given up reading proper books altogether, preferring to 'read' on the computer (meaning surf stupid sites) :-(

Sunshine and gin sounds like my sort of holiday.

I have mainly been lurching in fear from 'what the hell am I doing going to blow up mines?' or 'excellent, a new adventure awaits' on an almost hourly basis.

Hence the need for gin.

I quite like the fire engine idea...especially if a couple of firemen were included!

About time too. How dare you put enjoying yourself before your blogging responsibilities. Will buy copious copies of the album just to ensure you get a new kitchen

Glad you've had a good time over the last month, I have been having a whale of a time too.

I think I'd be happy too if I'd found a Tiffany necklace.....

Bloody proms! American introduction...Both step-daughters had two, the first one being a practice run apparently. Thought all my worries were over until a friend asked me last week if I would take some photos of her daughter before she went on hers, her dad having had their camera with him when he went away. I do a bit of photography so I said ok...To say I was nervous would be an understatement 'cause I'd have hated to ruin the day so I was a tad nervous. This multiplyed when I got there 'cause not only was freinds daughter there but her friend as well, their suitors for the evening plus clucking mothers...Very surprised then to find that they turned out pretty good. So much in fact that the girls bought me a few beers to thank me. You can see a few on my site on Saturday 7th May edition

Glad you had a good holiday....Will have a skeet at Hot Boys video when I get home from work.

Wey hey...been wondering when you would finally catch up on yourself and pop by with an update. The music's not half bad is it. My plan is to go abroad at time if prom, I believe it will be cheaper. We need a my big fat gypsy prom to reverse this trend. Friends daughters hired an open top bus. What's left, a bloomin helicopter?

I wondered why you had been so quiet. My two must have had understated proms - even Attila never suggested a limo (though she must have known I would have said no) and she was perfectly to be picked up by me in my beaten up 206, though the alternative would have been to walk home. I even made Lenin's dress, though she was allowed a taxi both ways because I was away on holiday. Such a caring parent.

Enjoyed the video - your kitchen may well come to pass.

Had to laugh at the thought of Laura watching all the bobbing up and down in Church.
So glad your hols went well.....

OMG! We're on a level of mums and bands here! Just posted a new Casino video earlier on!

Autohype are quite Paulo Nutini. He can certainly hit the high notes!

Good luck on your fitted kitchen. As Casino hand out free demo's, I'll just have to settle for a new kettle...lol

Thanks for your comment re my "anon" commenter - presumably you have no regrets about writing about your children being upset at their father's engagement? Having a marginally concerned moment about it all but generally speaking feel it's not a problem to discuss it all openly.

Love yr post - going through similar things all round!

Going back now to look at the video - how exciting!

My soon to be 16 year old refused to go to the Prom, why should we spend all that money on something I am going to only wear once and have to put up with all that nonsense! Yes I had to pick myself up off the floor too! I hate this divorce nonsense as she is paranoid about how much we spend! Hot Boys music is really really good, the lead singer reminded me of the lead singer of the Housmartins! I shall be looking out for their CD,I really like it.
